Who I Help

Sparklers

I work with adults who appear calm and capable on the outside - but feel constantly on edge on the inside.

You might:

  • Feel anxious even when nothing is "wrong"

  • struggle with overthinking and mental replay

  • Feel exhausted from holding it together

  • Describe yourself as high-functioning but internally wound-tight

  • Feel emotionally geared up like you're waiting for something to go wrong

  • Say, "I'm fine... but I'm tired."

I specialize in persistent, pervasive anxiety that doesn't fully shut off - even when you do everything "right".

About Me

Hello!  My name is Amanda and I am the country girl, wife, mom, equestrian, and professional counselor behind Ripples of Hope Counseling LLC.

I provide virtual counseling to adults located in Michigan.  I counseled in outpatient agencies, integrated care (in the doctor's office), and employee benefit programs for over a decade before going full time on Ripples of Hope in mid 2025.  I'm glad you're here!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I feel anxious all the time even when nothing is wrong?

Persistent anxiety often comes from a nervous system that has learned to stay in alert mode. We work on helping your system feel safe enough to stand down.

What are your credentials?

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor providing services to adults in Michigan.  I am also certified in telemental health (virtual sessions), mindfulness based relaxation, and animal assisted therapy.

Can anxiety ever fully go away?

Anxious symptoms can decrease significantly.  The goal is not elimination - it's learning how to live without constantly fighting it.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes, I provide virtual services to adults in Michigan.

If You Found Me While Searching for Anxiety Help...

If you've been typing things like:

  • "Why am I anxious all the time?"

  • "How to stop constant overthinking"

  • "High-functioning anxiety therapy near me"

You're likely looking for relief - not just coping skills

My work focuses on helping adults reduce internal wired feeling, mental exhaustion, and the constant background hum of anxiety.

Experience Treating: Anxiety, Depression, Chronic Pain, Relationship Stress and more

Anxiety

A little anxiousness, sometimes, is healthy.  That's our body's instincts keeping us alive!

However, anxiety can be persistent enough to make you doubt yourself, feel like it's holding you back, or even feel crippling at times.

I'm no stranger to the effects.  I also want you to know that ...

Sleep

I have additional training and experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) methods and strategies to improve the amount and quality of sleep that you achieve in a night.  Sleep concerns often come with dual disorder symptoms like depression or anxiety.  Sleep is vitally important for mental health. ...

Depression

Feeling under the weather, down in the dumps, stuck in a rut?  Have you lost interest in doing things that used to bring you joy?  These are all signs of possible depressed mood and depression.

Depression is an associated chemical and energetic imbalance in the brain and body that causes us to react with survival instincts.  This can often look like ...

Chronic Pain

As autonomous human beings we are naturally attracted towards control.  Generally, the more control of our environment, emotions, and sensations we have, the more satisfied we are.  Chronic pain is a constant reminder and an extreme case of limited control.  This can lead to anger, sadness, and dissatisfaction affecting our overall mood. ...

Relationships

Family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, all of the communication and interaction with these different people takes a lot of effort!

There’s self awareness and social awareness, verbals and non-verbals, and many choices that go into engaging in these relationships and making them healthy and effective.  Not to mention ...

Contra-Indicated

That's a big fancy word to say that not all concerns are appropriate to be treated either via virtual counseling or by Amanda as an individual counselor.

Couples, children, and immediately life threatening symptoms are a few presenting concerns that are limited by online counseling.  Click below to learn more and to see resources for these concerns.
